Gah... I really don't want to have to put this off even further!
I've bloody had that Ruskie kit sitting there for far too long already! ![]()
Right then...
Deadline has passed. Not enough people by far.
So based on Barrie and Anne's post I think we need to go further south... So I'd like to go with Grange Farm on 7th November.
Is that okay with everyone?
Also we'll need a new battle to base it on, right?
Please could all of you respond asap so I can at the very least let everyone know it's postponed!
Okay... Alex has been informed and I've put a note in the forum.
The missus has already got me booked to go to a Christening... gah! lol ![]()
Okay... chatting with Webby...
He has suggested other sites. eg the one they used for Jedburgh training. Just off the M42.
Thing is I personally don't know these people and I hate dealing with people I don't know.
Does anyone here know them?
OK, after talking with Yith using these sites suggested by Lardy and Webby sounds like an idea.
If we are using one of these sites then the person who knows them needs to take point on organising the game.
... and liaising with the site owner!
Sounds fair. I'll have a word with John at FFZ this weekend to find out what his future plans are. I'll see about planning a trip to CA in the near future for a look around.
Good stuff... keep us posted! If the date you choose for CA is appropriate for me coming down as well I will try my best to do so.
But I really can't promise anything at the moment!
Will do.
I've spoken to John at FFZ and he's not to sure about us running a game there. Seems to think there will be a conflict of interest, despite him not planning to run another WWII game until probably next year and ours being Eastern front.
I'm not sure when I will get to CA. My friends aren't too keen to go as they had a fall out with the owners and I don't much fancy it on my own. I've not heard good reports about the open days either. I may just go for a look around rather than a game for starters.
Hmmm... not sounding too positive there... but at least we know! Thanks for your efforts!
I still think CA will be worth checking out, I'll just see if I can go on a non playing visit first, possibly during an open day so I can see if its worthwhile you chaps taking a trip down to play there .
On an ironic side note Alex from FSA was at FFZ on Sunday. I didn't get the chance to chat much (I think he left early) and needless to say I didn't mention our plans.
Yith has played at the CA site twice and knows both the site owners Seg (Tony) and Bigfish (Chris) who both attended the Clash of Eagles game Yith helped organise - you can't have a worse memory that me Richard! ![]()

Correction, I played there once... I definitely didn't go for a second time.
Yes, I've met Tony and Chris and have vague memories of them. I didn't really get on with them that much and then they vanished from my life for years only to appear again now.
So I might as well not know them! I actually know John at FFZ better and hardly have ever talked to him either!
